Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
PLEASE read the descriptions that say that the "Building Bricks" only have rectangles and the "Architectural Bricks" have the other shapes. I read a lot of reviews saying they were disappointed to only get the rectangles, but that's exactly what they ordered.
My 2 brothers and I played with these (rectangles only) for hours on end as children, and I'm planning on buying them to pass out to my friends' growing families. They were very durable, lasting 3 rowdy children for years and years. A plus: I'm sure my brothers and I threw them at each other quite often, but since they're light cardboard, we weren't able to hurt each other.

boys and girls of all ages love them, I just never have enough

I have 3 kids (25,21 &18) & all of them played with these blocks for years & they have great memories of grandparents sitting in the floor playing with them. Now I can't wait to get some for my granddaughter!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My 5 yr old loves these blocks. Sturdy too, he is in his 2nd yr of play. He will entertain himself building forts, cities and many other imaginary places. Great buy!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I expected a variety of shapes as shown in the picture, not just rectangles.Although the method of assembly was not difficult, anyone with arthritis in the hands may have difficulty. All in all very disappointing.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Bought these for my 3 year old Grandson for Christmas. He visits at least twice a week plus sleepovers and these blocks always come out. He loves to stack them, make houses, and train tracks to run his train and trucks on. He knocks them down and stands on them and they hold him with no problem.
I like that they are lighter weight cardboard so I dont worry about broken windows when they go flying!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
In general we were pleased. Easy to put together, yet very time consuming. Had figured from the picture shown we'd receive more than one shape. Was disappointed to only receive rectangles. kids did enjoy playing with them.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These are probably the best I have ever bought for my children or my grandson
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
This product is great for kids of all ages, the cardboard bricks are lightweight and yet very durable. My kids (12-2yr olds) enjoy playing with them at a part time daycare I work for. So do my own kids (8,7,3,1) So I bought them 2-sets of each. Easy to store and Great price too!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
All my children have enjoyed these blocks! They are great for developing motor skills in the younger kids and the older kids are more imaginative with their creations. I would not recommend allowing the kids to stand or sit on them, but they have lasted for years in our home and kept all the kids busy while I work.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
We got two packs of these when my eldest son was 2. They have held up well to my rough and tumble boys (but no throwing or standing on them!). The only ones we have thrown away in 6 years were water damaged. Grandma just got us another two packs so we could have princess towers and knock-over towers higher than our heads all at once. For the amount of high quality play these blocks provide they are by far the best value of any toy we have ever had!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My mom purchased these blocks for Christmas 20 years ago. She still has her set for when the grandchilden come to visit & they always ask to play with them. Now I am purchasing these for my house for my 5 year old. I can't wait for Christmas!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My twins are not interested in this toy. The blocks are flimsy and just not entertaining. They are affordable though...just not very exciting.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
This is a great toy for kids aover 1
and a great gift

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
these are great, my grandkids love them, they play with them all the time, easy to put together, hours of fun. i would tell all my friends to buy them they are well worth the money.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I bought one set and my girls loved them so much that I bought two more sets. These blocks are literally what they want to play with most. I was satisfied with the sturdiness. All our blocks look the same today that they did when we first assembled them. I highly recommend.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
these blocks have entertained our kids for a long period of time but we are always throwing some away here and there. you or the kids can never step on them and my youngest only weighs 20 lbs or they will flatten. to put them together took us hours but i would rather do that then paying for a big shipping price, so i guess it evened out for me.in the end, i will not ever buy them again, they are entertaining but won't even last us a year!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Fabulous, quite toy that lets kids use their imagination. Easy to assemble (do it while watching t.v.)& very sturdy. Bought for 18 month old twins but other kids (3 thru 8)who visit love them. The littlest ones like to stand on one & balance themselves & stack them high. My grown kids love to build things with the little ones(they have stood on them too.)
I own two sets & have given several sets as gifts.
***Be sure you have a place to stack/store them. Mine are in the base of the entertainment center.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My 1 1/2 year old grandson loves to build them up and crash them down.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
The key to these bricks is putting them together well. Make sure everything is folded and tucked in like it should be. If that is done, they will stack well and last LONG. We bought ours in 2000 for our first child's first birthday - she is now in second grade. She and both of our other children as well as many playgroups of boys & girls have enjoyed these blocks. I've also used these in childcare and church group settings with the same success. We still have all 48 (2 sets) of our blocks and they look almost new.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
This product is good for the price, but is smaller and less sturdy than the others we had that cost more money.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I bought both sets of these blocks for my son for Christmas. The photo is a little deceiving. The blocks are a lot smaller than what you would expect, but my son still enjoys them just the same.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These bricks are so much fun! My kids play with them everyday. I originally bought 2 sets for them on Christmas.. I ordered 2 more sets after Christmas [...]Overall though, they are fun and do keep kids and adults entertained.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My boys received these as a Christmas gift.Ages 2 and 4. They are pretty simple to put together. I found that the building blocks hold up pretty well. Where the architecture blocks are flimsy and very easily crushed. You really need at least 2 sets or more to really build anything. Overall it has
been cheap entertainment that won't see next year.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I use these in my Daycare, and even though the children sometimes stand on them, they have held up well. Easy to put together, and a very nice size. I'd give them an A+!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I purchased four sets of these bricks, then split them three ways -- one to a granddaughter, one to a grandson, and one for Grammie to keep here.
A few days ago, an almost 3-year-old grandson (a very compliant child) who had not been given the bricks was here and I gave him the bricks to play with. I left the room after spending about ten minutes stacking and knocking down the bricks with him. Five minutes later when I returned to the room, half the bricks were smashed. If these bricks are "strong enough for adults to stand on," then tell me how a little kid could have possibly destroyed them in such a short amounts of time?
I am totally disappointed in this product and would not recommend it to anyone. Pay the higher price and purchase the better bricks from another source. Don't buy these. These are a poor imitation of the real thing.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My son has a fascination for anything to do with construction and his twin sister has decided she is a princess in disguise. He loves building her a castle she can sit in and then knocking it down to build her another one. She will sit and he will build all around her. It's hilarious to watch and they LOVE it! I also had a sort of Zen moment putting the blocks together. It was very easy once I got the hang of it.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I can't say enough good things about these blocks. All 4 of my kids and my husband and I love them. We ordered 2 sets. You really do need at least 2 sets.[...] I think that's horrible.I would have ordered more in the beginning had I known that. Thanks Lillian Vernon! We do love the bocks though.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
We have a 2 year old and an almost 4 year old and these are great! I was so happy to find these after remembering something like them in the kindergarten classrooms I worked in college! We try to buy toys that don't pin children down to one idea but encourage them to make their own games and little worlds and these totally fit the bill. We're back to buy another set because my 4 year old wants enough to build an igloo! Assembly wasn't difficult once you followed the directions and went smoothly. As for those concerned with durability and sturdiness, these are the sturdiest, most durable cardboard I've seen .. that said they are made from cardboard and will not withstand jumping or getting wet!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I purchase these for my 2 1/2 year old, my 8 year old has just as much fun with them as the baby. The instructions made assembly seem harder than it actually is. The kids are having lots of fun building (and the 2 year old knocking them down). Great price and great busy work.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
We love this for our 15 month old daughter! She loves knocking down towers, and then handing the blocks back to us to build them again. It is great fun for ALL of us!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
This is by far the coolest thing my sons have. They are 3 1/2 and 6 months, he's very active too at his age. They've got all the suprhero toys imaginable, and I find them with these more than anything they do now, EVEN TV looses to these. They play with their action figures & cars on them, and even they climb on them! They are literally the perfect toy for every child. I am so happy and thrilled with these blocks. I even get to play with them, when my son asks me to help build something for him. These were an early Christmas gift this year and I love them more than any of their other toys.
Delivery was very prompt and the packaging was very durable and protective. They were shipped as a gift ordered by someone else. Arrived perfectly!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I dont know who loves the blocks more, my 3 year old or my 17 year old. Or maybe it's my husband. It's hours of fun once you have the blocks assembled. (which takes little time to accomplish)
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These are great & not too hard to assemble. My 2-1/2 yr old daughter & 6 month old son love them. The do break down over time - especially when steped on! Overall they are great, cheap entertainment.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
We've had these for 6 years! My kids are 5 and 7. As infants/toddlers, my kids were greatly entertained for hours building simple towers, knocking them over and rebuilding (over and over again!) As they got older, they experimented with stacking in different ways, and as imaginary play took off, the blocks took on a world of their own ... becoming castles, houses, roads, corales, zoo pens, etc. (Who needs a dollhouse when you have these?) They have withstood tough play/abuse (even been walked on!)yet they still hold their shape and continue in play even today. They're a simple toy but really great! I give these as gifts to parents of young kids! Add the architectural blocks as it adds to the imagination!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These blocks are just great! My 18 month old loves them. They are extremely sturdy he weighs 28 lbs and stands on them. They really are alot of fun and make their little minds be creative. My only problem is that they were kind of hard to put together at first but after the first few it did get easier. I would tell any parent or grandparent to purchase these blocks!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
We bought these blocks when my two daughters when they were 3 and 1 yrs. old.
Now my kids are 5 and 8 yrs old. and they still use them all the time!
In the beginning they just liked to stack them, and then make them fall down. Now they build houses and mini kingdoms for their animals. I especially recommend the architectural blocks along with the standard ones, it really adds to their imagination.
I think they were the best investment I ever made!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My two boys age 2 and 4 have four sets of these and play with them every day multiple times a day. they are incorporated in so many ways it is impossible to describe. they are built into houses, patios, and barns as well as sorted, counted, and delivered in their play trucks as packages. The blocks show no sign of wear and the whole family got into putting them together last xmas.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These are great quality cardboard bricks, but the impression left by the picture on the site left me thinking I would get more than just the rectangular bricks - I assumed I would get some triangles and other "bridge" shaped bricks. Still, these are fabulous for the price.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These bricks are Great! Both my 4 year old AND my 9 year old play with them. They build the most amazing things. These blocks are not as large as some other brands I've seen, but they are still a great buy. I probably would not get the architectural ones again. The rectangles are the most played with. We have two sets and will probably get two more soon.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These are so easy to assemble.
My kids - all boys ages 1-9 play with these.
Highly recommend!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
This is a wonderful product. I have 3 kids and run my own daycare from home. Since the day I recieved these bricks, they are the kids favorite. My husband even told me to buy more so he can build bigger houses. These bricks hold the weight of children and adults.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I had 3 toddlers (ages 1, 2, 3) staying with me for a week and they all LOVED playing with the bricks! They were their favorite thing of all the toys I bought for their visit!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I bought these when my first grandson was 2 yrs old. Ten yrs and two more grandsons later, they were still their favorite plaything and kept them entertained when they were at Nana's house.
I finally donated them to a community center this year, as sturdy and colorful as when new!
This year I am purchasing them for my 18 month old niece.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My kids are now grown up, but when I spotted these bricks online it reminded me that as kids they simply played with the two sets we bought more than all other toys COMBINED, and they did so for many years. Endless creative play, and they never even wore out. We eventually gave them to friends.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Lillian Vernon sold these blocks 20+ years ago when I purchased them for my children. Now I am back eager for my first grandson to spend countless hours engaged in imaginative play at its best! Easy to assemble. Durable. Hours and hours of fun. When my last child outgrew them, we gave them to a friend.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I brought these blocks over thirty years ago. Every kid that came to the house back then, the blocks was always the first thing they ask to play with. I am now buying them over for grandchildren. Guess if I live long enought I will buy them again for great-grandchildren.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Behind the scenes you couldn't know the pleasure the little 2 thru 5 year olds in our Sunday School Class have enjoyed! Perfect hands-on blocks

These are one of my kids favorite toys. Can't believe how great they are for [$].....and, they make NO noise! Super, I will be ordering more!!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My 20 month old will play for hours with these. He will make buildings, "steps", roads, you name it! He even maks parking lots and fences for his animals. Great imaginative play! Only negative is that I would order two sets because there are 24 blocks include and they are not the pointy ones just small blocks. Still so much fun!!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
have these in my daycare (2 sets works well)and recently bought 2 sets for my grandson---most played with toy at birthday party and since. he loves
them thanks for wonderful product---my daycare ones are 10 yrs old and still in excellent condition.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I love this timeless favorite! I have fond memories of playing with these when I was young (a long time ago!). My older son's love them and I have just bought a new set for my youngest son as a Christmas gift. I cannot wait to play with them, too!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I don't like tedious tasks. This does not take that long to put together. Your child will enjoy it for at least 2 years or longer. They will build some amazing things with these blocks. You will be amazed.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Hours of fun building and knocking down!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
when we recived these in the mail and i started to fold them up my daughter was soooo excited. she is almost 2 years old and loves to have me pile them up and she knocks them down, hours of fun!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Great. I want to buy more
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Besides just having fun in playtime when the kids build anything from roads to castles, apartment buildings, to parking garages, we use them with our lessons like building the walls of Jericho and march around with our horns on the seventh day. I do not have to worry about injured kids when the walls come tumbling down.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Our grandkids simply love these blocks! They build castles, roads, and corrals and even lay on the floor and have us "bury" them with the blocks. Putting the blocks together was kind of a pain for my husband and I but he just laughed and said he felt like he was working at a pizza place!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My son loves to play with these blocks. They are smaller than I thought they would be, but they are just the right size for him to hold and carry.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I bought 3 sets of these for my son on his second birthday. I love the imaginative play and so does he. Everything is electronic these days, these blocks make him have to think and they really help with coordination and action/reaction.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My nieces and nephews love to come over to our house and get these "bricks" out to play. They enjoy building things, so these are great!
You really need at least 2 sets of the building bricks to make it fun for the kids.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Hours of fun
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These boxes are small enough for my 17-month old to pick up with her hands. Her older brother (10 years old) thinks they are fun and imaginative and easily plays with her using the blocks. At this age, I am glad I got the primary colors.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My daughter got these block as a christmas gift last year. She was 2 at the time and she loves them. They have been great for her imaginative play!!
Our family has had so, much fun with them!
I give them as gifts to our friends kids!! The blocks have become there favorite toy!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My daughter (2) LOVES this set. My nephew (5) Loves them too...They play together with these blocks building and knocking them down. Learning colors and shapes are fun with these blocks... My nephew actually loves to call them "architectural builder blocks"...I had to get him his own set for his birthday!!! Sturdy and a GREAT Price!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
1 year old grandson loves them and plays for hours. just as nice as the expensive sets in stores.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My class of 4 and 5 year olds love to build using these blocks. I would buy them agian because they are very colorful and durable and reasonably priced.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I bought two sets for my 14 month old daughter. I actually had fun putting the blocks together, once I was able to figure it out. My husband has more fun with the blocks than my daughter, but every time she knocks over what he has built, she giggles like nothing I've ever heard. I will buy more of these as gifts for the other kids in our family. These blocks are simply fun!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Awesome bricks, we build TONS of forts and castles. I was in a rush to assemble them tho, and got "paper" cuts on a few fingers. But it was sooo worth it! (we initially bought 2 sets, have purchased 2 more since)
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These are a good quality product, my 2 and 4 year old girls love them. They were building towers with their VCR tapes, these are much safer and they love the colors. They get put away for only short periods before the girls bring them back out again. The only drawback so far is that if my younger daughter steps on them just the right way they will crush very slightly but not enough to make them unusable at this point. We have had them about a month and I am planning on another set or two for Christmas because they want to build taller towers.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
We really like the Building Bricks and they seem to be holding up well. My 18-month old daughter loves knocking over whatever we build for her. However, we also bought the architectural bricks at the same time and they are not doing so well. Mainly the arches are very flimsy and are already crushed. The octogons and triangles are holding up better but they just do not work well with the other bricks (off balance, not to the same scale, etc.)
Buy the building bricks but not the architectural bricks.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
As soon you can can put them all-together-these blocks are so great. For boys or girls and a great value!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These blocks are great fun for my 9 month old and my 2 year old. They are sturdy and durable but safe if the baby puts them in his mouth. The only drawback is to build anything substantial, you need more than one set.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Our daughter received a set of these as a gift from my parents when she was 1 1/2 years old. She didn't show them an incredible amount of interest until she hit two. Now she plays with them everyday and building "one more fort" is the last thing she wants to do before going to bed at night. I think we'll get her another set or two. A must-have toy at such a great price!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I think these blocks are great, so does my 18 month old son.
I like they are NOT plastic. Great for motor skills and imagination.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I BOUGHT 48 BLOCKS ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO, AND THEY ARE STILL IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION. I BOUGHT THEM FOR MY OLDER DAUGHTER, AND SINCE HAVE HAD 2 MORE CHILDREN INCLUDING MY 3 YR OLD H.F.AUTISTIC CHILD WHO LOVES TO BE VERY ROUGH WITH STUFF. ALL MY KIDS (9,3,1) PLAY WITH THEM ALMOST EVERY DAY EVEN MY DOG(65 LB PIT BULL) LIKES TO PLAY FETCH WITH THEM. THEY ARE VERY STURDY. WHEN THEY WERE DELIVERED I WAS VERY UNHAPPY. I COULD NOT IMAGINE A PICE OF CARDBOARD LIKE THAT HOLDING UP FOR VERY LONG. I WAS SO VERY WRONG. THIS IS A GREAT TOY I HAVE BOUGHT SETS AS GIFTS FOR OTHER CHILDREN AS WELL.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
my son loves these, and I have to admit I enjoy building with him too. we have 3 sets and just ordered another. now we can have a huge fort!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I bought these blocks for my son ten years ago. Now he is 15 and his little sister loves playing with them.
I am ordering a set for my nephew's first birthday.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
some pieces stuck together and when pried apart, ripped and had to be taped. They are fun for the kids but lack quality.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I am using these blocks in my Kindergarten classroom. The children LOVE them and they are so much safer than all those wooden blocks!!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I was so excited to find these! 30 years ago my pediatricians had these in their office for my children. Today, my 15 month old granddaughter's pediatricians have them in their office. I now am able to have them in my own home. She can walk on them and not trip or hurt her feet like she does with wooden blocks. I can ask her for the different colored bricks to teach her colors. Plus, they are easy to stack and twice as noisy when smacked down! Great Fun!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
This was the BEST [$] I have spent on something for my son to play with. He has a ball.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:

It is a great teaching tool. My kids love them. I only purchased one set. They fight over them. I am purchasing more.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These blocks were easy to assemble and it was fun doing it. My children are 3 years and 2 1/2 years old. They love building with them and then knocking them over. They play with them for hours. I am going to have to order several more sets for them to have. They want to build it really high. Great price, worth the money. I would recommend them to anyone. It helps teach the children how to build. And if they throw them they will not do a lot of damage.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These were easy to assemble and my almost two year old has loved playing with them!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Yes, I would get this for children 5 and under. It is a great toy to let them build their imagination.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My son really likes these but you do have to order at least 2 or 3 sets to have enough to build something. But they are a little tedious to put together because they come flat and each has to be folded and put together.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Great for building. Kids of all ages will have fun creating towers and buildings of all kinds.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I had orderd one set to see if the kids would play with them. I have to order
about 5 more sets, their only complete was their was'n enough. I have a 7yr old and a 18month old. The older child loves them just as much as the little guy does.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Truly, the architectural set isn't very interesting and didn't add much value. But the basic blocks, although smaller than I expected, are very sturdy and colorful. They have so far been enjoyed in our house by children from 1 to 8.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I ordered three sets for my 3-yr-old daughter. She loves them. These are a big hit with her friends, too.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These keep my 16 month old busy building for hours! He loves them.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
The assembly was a little time consuming, but they were still well worth it. They provide a safe and fun alternative to wooden or hard plastic blocks, and are still durable enough to last through a 5 year old and a 1 year old.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My eight and six year old boys love playing with these still. They build and knock down only to start all over again!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:

I'll save for the great grandkids. Get some army guys and you are all set!!!!!!!!!!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These blocks are very sturdy. My kids (2 & 4) make a bridge and walk across it. They don't bend or collapse. The kids love to make towers and knock them down and these are great for that.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I had these blocks growing up and loved them. We have both the architectural bricks and the building bricks. Our son and daughter both play with them. The only drawback is that you have to fold and assemble every brick. Don't try to do this Christmas eve, you'll be there for a while.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Before having my twins, I worked as a Pre-K Special Ed. Teacher. We had similar blocks in my classroom and they were a big hit. Got these for my twins for their 1st Birthday. They are great. Children of all ages LOVE these blocks !! Have given them as Birthday gifts as well(I put them together for the Mom). Highly recomend. Also a GREAT price.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
My 2-year-old granddaughter loves to play with these blocks. She builds them up and then knocks them down. I feel that they are safe because they are so lightweight with no sharp edges. They keep her amused for long periods of time, and are helping her to develop motor control. The architectural bricks expand her creativity and allow her to make some very interesting creations.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:

I bought these for my Sunday School class of 2 year olds. They love them. We use them for play time and "story time". They are sturdy enough for the children to stand on, they don't hurt when they fall over and even when "thrown" (two year olds do that) they are not dangerous. I have used them before for my own children and they love them too. A wonderful product!

I was so surprised to find how sturdy these blocks were for such a great price. They are literally solid, with cardboard zig-zagging throughout the center of the block so that no child (or most adults) would crush them even by standing on them. My son has had hours of fun building towers, bridges, and garages for his trucks. I have since purchased the pink and purple, as gifts, and his little girlfriends love them as well. So glad I found these rather than getting flimsy, unsafe blocks for the same price!

These are some great blocks for the kids. They are very sturdy and have held up well through some rough play!!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These blocks are a favorite toy in our house. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because my 2 year old son quickly realized that he could jump on them to "squish" them. After 4-5 times they become so squished that they are not fixable anymore. But with the price it really is not that big of an issue for us. They allow great imaginative play for my older son and motor skills learning for my infant daughter. And best of all it is a toy they can play with together!

This bricks are played with indoors and outdoors by my children and their friends. They turn any play area into so many creative things. They incorporate the bricks into whatever they may be playing.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
very nice toy, a little time comsuming to put the set together! we got more than one set and we were tired of folding cardboard together!!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
It doesn't get any better than these blocks.Kids can build huge things and then knock them down. They can build roads and really walk on them. When his friends come over this is one of the few toys that ALWAYS gets played with :)
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
We have had lots of fun with these blocks (both sets)with ages 18 mo all the way up to 12 year olds. Get this, all playing together and getting along. One thing, when assembling them 2 sets were short a block....other then that they're great..I'd say get anyways, and go have fun!!! As for the cons, heavy duty clear postage or boxing tape works great.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
my 2,3, and 4 year olds love to play with these blocks, and I don't have to worry about anyone getting hurt. They are so lightweight. They love building towers and watching them fall!
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Gave these as a gift to friends, ages 1 and 3, they still love them. My 7 year old loved putting them together. This was 2 years ago, everyone is happy.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I bought a few sets of these for my daughter and nephew at Christmas when they were each 1-1/2 yrs. old. They both loved stacking and knocking them down. Now that they are a little older, they are great for color and shape sorting and building forts. They are very easy to stack and store under furniture or in a closet, although they are a bit bulky. I would definitely recommend purchasing more than one set if your kids would like to actually build something they could climb into, under or around. Great buy!

I gave these as a gift to my 2 year old niece. She AND her 7 year old sister love playing with them.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These are fairly easy to assemble, especially once you get the hang of the folds, and easy to store. Once put together, they're done for life and very lightweight, but completely sturdy.
Funny thing is that they seem to bring the whole family together! My older son (probably because he's an engineering major) is always creating amazing buildings with them for his 4-yr-old sister. Yes, I did kind of 'stock up' on one or two sets of each kind of the blocks, in basic and special shapes, primary AND pastel: I have a girl, after all!
These were always a big hit in the church toddler classes I taught, and I was glad to see them made available to my kid-- every day-- at such an affordale price. I'm a teacher by profession as well, and recognize the value of having great tools that promote spatial thinking skills in a creative fashion at early ages.

I have a 5 year old boy, a four year old girl and a two year old boy. My husband and I ordered these after our kids were nuts about playing with them at grandma's house. Grandma lives far away, so we thought it a good choice. All three of my kids play with these, especially my 5 year old. The two year old gleefully knocks down whatever is built, sometimes much to the chagrin of the builder, but that's another story.... at first they are a little funky to fold together, but, after a second, it's totally do-able. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it would be nice if they were *a little* heavier, but there's not much to do about that, and that comment should absolutely not deter you from buying, as they still are a very nice weight. It's just a personal thought. My kids love them. I have to clean them up constantly, they are all over my floor all the time, which tells me they are getting good use, and my money was well spent. They're light enough where no one gets hurt if a tower is knocked over onto them (actually, they like it) and they are durable enough to withstand pretty rough play . I am 5'10" and 165 lbs (gulp) and although I do not recommend this at all and don't let my kids do it, I can stand on one of the rectangular blocks without it buckling or being crushed. I just did it for the benefit of this review, thank you very much! So, these are a worry free purchase for you. Good luck, happy building.

I bought these for my toddlers and still have them 25 years later for my grandchildren! Very durable! Older kids use them for an assortment of activities such as creative houses, walls, forts, hamster mazes etc.

Finally something that my 3 and 6 year olds can play with together. We got the architectural bricks and the building bricks. My kids love the versatility of them and enjoy using them to build race tracks, forts and even castles for my daughter's dolls. A great investment.

These blocks are great fun, will take up lots of time in the shade on a summer day! We take picutres of the different creations the kids make. One thing--I recommend getting at least two sets to make substantial creations, one isn't really enough. We started out with two sets. I'll probablly order a couple more--the price is right!

We bought these as Christmas gifts for our great-nephews who were 2 and 3 years old. Everyone had so much fun with them over the holidays that my 20-year-old son in college wanted some so he and his roommates could have fun with them. They loved them!

After seeing these blocks at my grandson's Sunday School nursery, I thought he might like some for home, too. Does he ever! But he lets his year-old sister "help him build stuff". They're a very safe and sturdy toy that lets them use their imagination.

As Grammy to 6 grands and a 20 year teacher (kdg) I highly recommend these wonderful vehicles! All the grandchildren - all under 4 years - love them and take them out first. They will NOT scratch wood floors or furniture! Colorful. Quiet. Sturdy! I have given them as gifts to new grandparents - they are that wonderful!

My boys, ages 3 & 5, love the blocks. They build towers, bridges and all kinds of structures. The blocks are durable. My sons love to knock down what they build and the blocks haven't given out yet. The assembly was a bit tidious, just because an adult or older child has to assemble them and there are alot of blocks, but once you start it becomes easier.
I also, have had these blocks in my classroom when I taught Pre-K, the kids loved them. It was there favorite toy.
They are easy to stack and stand up and sturdy enough to build tall structures.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Great toy, lots of fun to build walls and forts. You do need to purchase 4-6 sets if you really want to build anything large though.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Loved these 20 years ago, sent some to new parents in my family. No idea if they understood--they have a girl and do not hate lavender as much as I do. I loved the primary colors, the strength to weight ratio, everything except how much space they required to store. Fortunately, they were not put away that often.

These building blocks are wonderful. My niece and nephew have had them for over 6 years and they are still in good condition. My husband and I bought them for our daughters for Christmas-2006 and we placed them all around their gifts. They loved finding them on Christmas morning and enjoy building with them frequently. I recommend them to everyone!

The boys love these blocks. THey are easy to assemble and store away when not being used.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
Although the blocks are sturdy, I would not recommend an adult or larger child standing on them.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
These are just like the blocks that most preschools have. They are great for hours and hours of creative play! Best of all, they are all BIG! Many other places sell you a set that has about 5 big ones and lots of little blocks. With bigger blocks, the structures can be higher and sturdier. My daughter LOVES them!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:
I have bought similar blocks made by other companies and I was very disappointed with the quality of these. My first set lasted 6 years, I bought these and was very disappointed I had to throw most of them out withn 6-8 months because they crushed or just fell apart, I even held some of them together with duct tape trying to save my investmet and even that didn't help.

I ordered these blocks for my 5 year old grandson. He loves them. If you can imagine it he can build it. He has built everything from a space station to a garabge dump. His 9 month old brother likes them too. We stack a few up and let him knock them down. Great fun for all.
Comments about Lillian Vernon Cardboard Building Bricks:

My 3-1/2 year old daughter LOVES to build with blocks and these bricks were a great find. She plays with them in a variety of ways from building towers and houses to using them as furniture or walls for her dolls and Little People. This is a great toy for quiet play and allows her to build and re-build as often as she wants. These bricks can keep her entertained for quite a while without turning on the TV.

My 2 year old daughter loves these bricks. She likes to stack them up and knock them over again and again. They are sturdy enough for her to stand on but she won't get hurt if/when they fall over onto her. We can play with these for hours!

We bought our first set of Cardboard Building Bricks for our son's second birthday. Two and a half years later, he and his brothers/cousins (6.5 yrs, 5.5 yrs, 3 yrs, and 17 months) still play with these on a daily basis. Few other toys in the playroom can make such a claim. Only the imagination limits what these versitile bricks can "do". These bricks have been everything from vitamins to pepperoni pizza, from laptop computers to carwash machines. The kids lay them down to make walking trails, they use them to build towers. I highly suggest purchasing two sets of Building Bricks if there will be more than one child using them at a time. The only downside I see to these bricks is the room that they can take up...if you're limited on space, this could be a problem; however, they easily stack under the bed or against the wall by color. This is definitely a staple toy in our home and will be for many years to come!

these were quite fun to assemble, just a bit time consuming.
we've had ours almost two years now and they are still holding up, with three kids and their friends using them!
my only warning is that you keep them away from babies because the edges are quite sharp and they are definitely NOT fun to step on, either!
