I am a teacher and I received this sign as a gift to hang outside of my classroom. I bought it for two other teacher friends and was very disappointed that their names were printed upside down on BOTH signs!

I have had this just over a year. If we didn't have it attached to the main door with a screen door in the front, I would be afraid it would blow away. However, it is a great concept and I really like it. I was a little sad there was no Christmas sign included, ,but I went to a local craft store and bought a flat ornament that is weather resistant and use that instead.

I loved this in the catalog and was slightly disappointed upon arrival. I have had to borrow the hooks from other seasons because they fall out. I have replaced all of the hooks that hold the signs together. I do this though because I love the sign concept. I always get compliments on how it looks, so I stick with it. The design needs to be a little more sturdy to withold being outside.

I was so excited to get this product for my new home. However, upon receiving it I was extremely disappointed. My last name is one word but has a capital letter in the middle of it. Although I was told that it could be personalized with the letter capitalized in the middle, I received the sign with a lower case letter in the middle. I called to have it fixed, and I was sent a new sign with my last name spelled as two words. I called AGAIN and was told my name could not be dne as one word with a capital letter in the middle; it either had to be two words with a capital or one word without. I asked if I could send the sign back and just receive a blank sign so I could write my name on it, but they said no because they already attmepted to fix it once. Now I have a sign with my name spelled incorrectly. I hung it up on my door for about a week, but guests kept commenting on my name being spelled wrong. Now this adorable sign just stays in a box. I used to order frequently from Lillian Vernon, however since this experience I have began ordering items elsewhere.

I received this sign as a Christmas gift because my friend remembered that I wanted to decorate for the holidays throughout the year. This sign is perfect. Our family name is surprisingly visible from the street (or at least from the sidewalk) and I look forward to changing out the icons each month. I just hung the sandals for summer time. Our sign has held up beautifully, but in fairness, I must admit that we have a glass storm door and covered "porch" that protects our front door, so our sign is never in direct sunlight nor does it ever get wet. I believe that a location such as this is best for this product.

After a few months on my front door, the wood swelled, seperated and fell apart. Should not be used except inside the house where there is no moisture and the plywood glue will not dryout.

To all those who question why there is no Christmas logo plaque- - is because it would not be ordered by those who do not celebrate it- ie my family is a combined Hannukkah/Christmas- so I would not have oredered it- the logos included are more generic for a broder appeal

I hung this sign on the front door (with an over-the-door hanger hook) inbetween the actual door and the screen door. It only "blows around" when the screen door is not shut properly. So the screen door protects the sign from the weather but all can see it when they are on the porch. I love things that have the family name on them. It's a cute sign. I think the symbols that came with it are perfect. I like the snowflake for christmas. I believe the best way to describe this item would be simple and sweet.

I bought 2 of these items, one for myself and the other was a Christmas gift for my mother in law. BOTH items broke very soon after they were hung! The screws used are very flimsy. I would NOT recommend this item. It is cute- but not if you can only use it for 1 week before it breaks!

This is a very versatile item that you can use all year long and makes a great housewarming gift. The letters are actually laser carved into the wood, not just painted on like they appear to be in the catalog. This was a nice surprise!

I can't comment on the longevity of the paint/color in the weather because it is hung under a covered porch in behind a storm door.

The one complaint I have and is the reason that I didn't give it the full 5 stars is that it doesn't have a plaque for every month. I wish it had a Christmas or at least winter holiday plaque (like a dove or a poinsettia or something), maybe an apple for September,one more summery looking one, and something more Halloween than just the fall pumpkins. I wanted to give this as a year-long gift to my secret sister and tie one of these to each month's present but it lacks 3 pieces to do that, since the birthday one goes with a month that has a holiday in it. Other than the lack of a plaque per month, I LOVE this item and plan on giving it as a gift to several other people in the future.

This is just such a lovely sign, and I adore all the hanging accents that can be changed for almost any season, holiday or occasion. I haven't had it long enough to be able to comment on how well it wears, but I don't think I'd feel comfortable putting it out in the weather. It's in my hallway now, and I might move it to the porch when the weather gets nicer. I'm going to buy one for my mother-in-law!

I was very excited to order this personalized gift for myself and for my sister for her b-day. When I received mine in the mail, it was partially painted. I phoned my sister and her sign arrived in the mail the same way. I was very embarrassed! Lillian Vernon easily replaced the items, but my sister's arrived again, partially painted... Great product to have near your doorbell! It's made of fairly thick wood and the letters are actually etched in the wood. The seasonal dangles are very colorful. Not sure how it will withstand the weather. Its underneath an awning to prevent water rot and not under direct sunlight so hopefully it will last a long time.

I do like the product and thought it was well constructed. My only disappointment was that there weren't 12, enough for each month of the year. I would suggest a turkey or cornucopia for November and an umbrella for April since Easter can be in March or April. A gingerbread man or tree or candy cane would be nice for December (non religious items). The birthday cake was a nice bonus!

Ordered 2 for gifts - they're really cute. Of note, these signs are small & not intended for identification from the street, they're clearly decorative! In the photo, it looks like the name/address is painted on, but it's also engrained into the wood. I don't think it would weather well in sunlight or rain, but it should be fine on the porch.

Hung outside on a garden post. Item didn't last long enough to hang 2 of the ornaments. The hanging screws rusted away and the wood mildewed. I applied a wood protector but the hangers rotted away. The weather here is not severe, it was springtime.

Pleasantly surprised by quality of product. Attractive and eye-catching. Only drawback is the hooks on the attachable decorations are delicate. I plan on displaying mine on my front porch by my front door so I don't think that will be an issue as it will not be banged around much (as it would if I hung it on the front door, etc.). I have ordered many things from this company, and this is the first time I have been disappointed in the product. The hooks that connect to the bottom name plate were not positioned correctly in the wood. So, I had to unscrew them and reallign them so I could hook the name plate to the top piece. It was a hassle and unnecessary.

When I first got this, the hooks in the "name" sign were on incorrectly. The sign hung backwards because of it. It was easy enough to fix though. I unscrewed the hooks and screwed them back in in the correct spots. No big deal really. The sign looks very nice and I have received numerous compliments on it. I love how this item can be used year round, and has your name on it....BUT when I got the item the welcome portion and last name portion hooks did not line up. I had to drill new holes so they would line up properly. After several weeks of hanging on my porch the hanging ornament (pumpkin) hook came out, so I will have to see if I am able to reattach it.

This is a nice sized product. The hanging ornaments are larger than I expected and the name personalization is carved in. The "Welcome" is painted on. This is a great gift idea and definitely looks like you spent more than you did!

I purchased this door sign for a newly married couple. They really appreciated getting something with their newly shared last name to proudly display. The new wife was thrilled with the plaques for every season and the new husband loved seeing something with his last name spelled correctly. I love this product! It was so easy to hang and I've already gotten so many compliments after just one season! I love how the 'welcome' and 'name' part are actually etched into the wood, not just like a sticker or paint and the hanging pieces seem very durable. Perfect. I love it. I have recieved many compliments, it is very cute for the price, dont let it get wet at all, I live in a very humid area and I can tell it will not last the full year , but it was cute for the price.

This is my third sign like this. I buy a new one every year or so. This time I was a little not happy as the plate with our name was coming apart when we got it. I used some monkey glue on it because the trouble to send it back is too high for the cost of the product. IN the past never had this problem.

Love this one! I have a formal English garden in my back yard that has a gas lamp post by my entry gate and I hung one there, loved that so much I bought 2 more and put one in our new front door and the other I gave to my mom, and she loves it!

The wood is a little scratched up, but nothing too noticeable. The hooks to assemble were mis-aligned and took my husband a while to rescrew them. We have it hanging on our front door. Everytime I come home and see it I smile. I can't wait until the next holiday to put a new one on it.

This is a very cute way to welcome friends! I think the price is great too as it can be used year round. It makes a great "housewarming" gift for newlyweds as well. It does bang on the door with the wind as it is a lighter item. Great value.

Have had lots of compliments on this one. Got one as a housewarming gift for a friend and her family loved it! The kids had a great time deciding which one to hang up. It's not the highest quality, but what can you expect for [$], good value for money. Very disappointed it doesn't come with any Christmas designs, only a snowflake for winter.

I purchased the "Welcome Sign" when it first came out. I enjoyed changing the cute plaques whether it was for a holiday or a season. I have purchased several in the past for my friends. This year I bought one for a family in NY. They have to count as penny and I thought this might bring a little sunshine in their lifes.They also have (2) bi-polar children and I think they'll enjoy the little cute plaques as well.

Very cute sign. Had to sqeeze all the hooks closed because the attachments kept falling off. Also had to secure velcro circles on sign and door because it flopped around too much when door was opened or closed

I was so excited when I ordered this, but not as excited as I was when I saw this hanging on the door!! Plus me and my 2 year old daughter went through all the symbols it came with and she felt so great telling me what they all were and what season they were for. This would make a GREAT gift!

Bought 3 of these as gifts and they were all awful. The ink was runny in some places and missing in others. The wood on the Welcome portion was bowed in all 3 sets. Out of the three I was able to come up with one half decent one (a piece from here and a piece from there)that I kept for myself. I could not give them as gifts. The one that I kept has since fallen apart completely.

Had one of these and was looking for a replacement. Very well made. Easy to secure to door (use one of the Command mini hooks, too easy!) Such a nice welcome sign to greet you, family and friends. Very visible from driveway (if on front door) and made of wood with adorable seasonal changes. Would and will recommend to all who ask. The personalization of course is such a nice touch. Buy one for a friend at this price too! I am buying one for mom and grandma now!

I love this sign. I have it hanging from a hook next to my front door and it is a wonderful addition to my front porch. I have purchased 2 door plaques and this one is my fav. Although it's not quite like the pics look, it is still very cute. The font lettering could look more professional, but overall it's pretty cute.

The kids love having our name on the front door and changing the holidays....the only problem is that the little hooks come out easily and when opening and shutting the door they come loose and fall out...very hard to find. We do love it...cant find it at [...] :)

I bought this item as a teacher gift, so the teacher has a welcome sign to her room. The teachers at my children's school have a window next to the door, a perfect spot for the welcome sign. The students love changing the season signs. I was impressed that the name was carved into the wood. I had expected the name to be just stickers, so I was plesantly surprised. I hope to have one hanging in my room.

I loved the sign when I opened it.
I immediately hung it on the front door.
The first time the door was opened and shut, the screws fell out and it could no longer be hung.
I recommend you use it on an inner door or wall space as it is delicate.

This is on my apt. door and I get a lot of comments about it. I had Family and Friends put on the engravable plaque and that covers everyone. My granddaughter is delighted to pick out which new plaque will be added for the occasion and she takes care of that for me. It's very visible from my street and I like that and so do my neighbors. I have been asked several times where I purchased it.

I really like this product, espeically since it can be personalized and has "charms" that can be changed to coordinate with different times of the year. Unfortuantely, when I received this product, the name that I requested for the personalization had not been printed on the sign; therefore I had to create that part on my own. The only other problem I have is that the product hangs with a chain, and is affected by the wind.

Very cute door ornament. Looks stylish with the personalization. The ornaments can be changed for the season or holiday with a birthday ornament included. Gives that perfect touch of whimsy. My front door is red and it looks fabulous hanging on it. Fits perfectly between the door and the glass outer door.

This is sooo great and affordable I bought 3 of them as gifts for Christmas and everytime I see it I regret not purchasing one for myself. Which I will correct soon. Only one of the 3 has had an issue and that was because it was hung from a porch in a very windy area and was torn up a bit, but was fixed and now hangs on the door which I think it was intended...if your thinking about it...don't, get it, you won't regret it...I also wish it was a bit bigger maybe an inch or two!

This is a very cute door sign. Lots of seasonal decorations, and they do not fade at all. My door gets full sun and in the 3 years I have had these they look as good as new. I do wish it was a little bit larger, but overall it is great.
